1,000hp MX-5 Drift Car Gets 360-Degree Camera, Watching Is All-Round Magic

We love a bit of 360-degree camera action here at SuperUnleaded.

Whether it’s a racing lap of Le Mans in a Nissan GT-R or a motorcade of IndyCars hitting the Golden Gate Bridge, 360-degree videos are just straight up awesome – even if it is technological witchcraft.

So when ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett straps a 360-degree camera to the roof of his 1,000hp ‘RADBUL’ MX-5 Formula Drift car and attacks Highland Motorsports Park in Otago, New Zealand, we’re all over it.

Packing 1,000hp at its lowest boost setting in a car weighing less then 1,000kg, the twin turbo, quad-rotor rotary-engined Mk3 MX-5 lives up to the ‘Mad’ nickname of its driver – and Whiddett isn’t exactly taking it easy on this tyre-tormenting run.
