6 cool things about the new Porsche 911 Carrera T
Porsche just released the new 911 Carrera T! Here are six things you need to know about it.
1. The design
The new Porsche 911 Carrera T – the T stands for touring – is based on the 1968 911. The whole essence of the car is about being lightweight and old-school. It’s 20kg lighter than a standard Carrera and is more driver-focused. It’s also unique with its 20-inch wheels in titan grey and the ‘911 Carrera T’ logos on the side.
2. The colours
Exterior colour options for the new Porsche are Black, Lava Orange, Guards Red, Racing Yellow, White and Miami Blue. It also comes in the metallic colours Carrera White, Jet Black and GT Silver.
3. The seats
The seats are black, electric and come in Sport-Tex fabric, while the headrests feature a ‘911’ logo. The new model also has the option for full bucket seats for the first time, while rear seats can be put back in at no extra cost.
4. The interior
The standard black trim can be upgraded to a ’T’ interior package, adding either Racing Yellow, Guards Red or GT silver seat belts and seat stitching. The new fabric door opening loops are also colour-keyed with the rest of the interior.
5. The engine
The 3.0-litre, flat-six twin turbo engine produces no more power than the regular 911 Carrera. However, it’s slightly quicker thanks to the reduced weight and shortened gear ratios. A sports exhaust system is standard.

6. The stats
The 911 Carrera T has the same power as the regular 911 Carrera at 370bhp. It’s quicker, though, because of the shortened gear ratios doing 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds – 0.1 of a second quicker than the standard model – while the automatic version does it in four seconds flat.
Prices start from £85,576, and Porsche expects first deliveries to be made in January 2018. We can’t wait to get our hands on one!
