The best tweets from the Japanese Grand Prix

Let’s be honest right out of the gate: the Japanese Grand Prix wasn’t the most spectacular motor race.

However, with nothing constructive to do during Friday’s rain, and mobile phone shenanigans from one Mr Daniel Ricciardo, Formula One was on great form elsewhere!

Second free practice at Suzuka saw heavy rain, and a stream developed in pitlane as the on-track activities were called off. Some teams made small paper boats, but none of their efforts beat this little fellow.

Palmer out, bananas in

On the Friday before the race, Jolyon Palmer and Renault announced they were parting ways following the Japanese Grand Prix weekend.

Mario costumes, Johnny Herbert, Williams F1 drivers, go karts and the open roads of Tokyo… Who pitched this in the Sky Sports F1 office, and how did they actually make it happen?

Ricciardo takes over Hamilton’s Snapchat

Ricciardo decided to teach Lewis Hamilton an important lesson on the podium after the race – NEVER leave your phone unlocked near an Australian troublemaker!

And he didn’t stop there, either…

Like a child with a new toy, Ricciardo couldn’t stop himself from continuing his rampage on Hamilton’s Snapchat. If anything, it probably boosted Lewis’s stats on the social media site, so maybe it was a favour rather than a prank?
