Taxi Driver Makes It A Fare To Remember At The Nürburgring
There are a few things to remember when you’re tackling the Nürburgring.
The first is that this is the track that claims more lives annually than alligators do, so don’t take liberties with it. The second is to be mindful of the car you’re driving.
If that car is, for example, a BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer – a seven-seat MPV designed to carry the family about that also happens to be a taxi – you might just want to be a little extra careful. Or not bother taking on the Nürburgring at all, perhaps.
Luckily for us, this particular taxi driver remembered neither of these rules and very nearly came a cropper, with a save to remember (and, no doubt, a laundry bill as an aide memoire).
We don’t know whether this drift is deliberate or not, but the 2 Series is clearly already on the edge as he comes sliding over the previous apex.
Either way, a little dab on the brakes proves quite unsettling and the people carrier suddenly lurches into oversteer.
It’s a good save, but the taxi driver certainly leaves the scene a lot slower than he entered it…
You can see the action below from two angles – because at the Nürburgring there’s always someone around to watch you fail. Twice…
