Bugatti Gives Insight Into Chiron As Hypercar Production Begins
As possibly the most luxurious brand currently on the market, Bugatti is a benchmark for supreme quality and outrageous speed.
The new £1.9 million Chiron was unveiled at last year’s Geneva International Motor Show, and the VW-owned French manufacturer has now started building it at the Molsheim plant.
In the tranquil Alsace countryside, the ‘Atelier’ factory is run by 20 of the finest motoring technicians. They’ve started on the first 12 Chirons and expect to have built 70 by the end of the year.
The 1,000 sq ft factory houses all areas of the Chiron’s assembly, and after many of the individual parts get delivered to the site it takes six months to assemble, customise and thoroughly check the 1,479bhp(!) hypercar before it’s delivered to the customer.
With many of the processes to build the car completed by hand, each Chiron is a labour of love and dedication to help make one of the most powerful production cars of all time.
Once constructed, the cars go on a 300km test drive, including a high-speed test at Colmar Airport and a drive through the Vosges mountains to test all aspects of the Chiron’s performance, before being signed off and sent to the paint shop for customisation and finishing.
These amazing cars clearly are made to the highest level and attention to detail is paramount.
And they also look stunning!
We can’t wait for these to be on the road!
