Convertible G-Wagen Is Up For Auction

Ever fancied a bonkers-fast soft-top G-Wagen but don’t have enough cash to get your hands on the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet? Well, this 2011 G55 AMG could be the car for you.

The blacked-out SUV has been converted to a, erm, convertible and has popped up on eBay with a modest $118,000 (£93,000) asking price.

It’s powered by a 5.5-litre V8 that develops 500bhp and 700Nn. In a regular G55, this allows for a 0-60mph time of 5.3 seconds and a limited top speed of 131mph. While the soft top may affect this slightly, it’s still likely to be an incredibly quick thing.

In addition to the generous use of the colour black on the exterior, the G55 also gains black leather seats with white contrast stitching, as well as a Harman Kardon sound system.

According to the ad, it’s done 38,210 miles over the course of its lifetime. If you think you can deal with the hefty fuel bills, place your bid while you can – the auction ends on June 20. Oh, and you’ll have to fetch it from Connecticut . . .
