Diana’s not-so-convertible Audi heads to auction

An elegant Audi 80 Cabriolet once owned by Diana, Princess of Wales is going under the hammer, giving anyone a chance to buy a little part of history.

The car was loaned to the Princess of Wales by an Audi dealership in London in 1994 for her personal use. Since then, it has gone on to cover a respectable 150,000 miles, although from what we can see, it still appears to be in pretty good shape.

All apart from the roof, that is, which is non-operational at the moment.

It’s been dry-stored for the past eight years, after its current owner realised its significance – he’d been using it as a family car up until that point.

Despite this, it’s got an estimate of between £14,000 and £18,000 for when it goes on sale at auction at Brooklands Motor Museum tomorrow.

Pssst!
