Eric Clapton’s Former F40 Up For Sale At Almost A Million Pounds
He may be nicknamed Slowhand but Eric Clapton certainly has some taste in fast cars.
The lifelong Ferrari fan maintains a collection of Prancing Horses and has even had one named after him – the Ferrari SP12 EC.
Now the chance has come up to buy one of Clapton’s former Ferraris, and it’s something of a gem. Considered to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made and certainly the most beautiful Ferrari, the F40 can be yours – if you have around a million quid to spend.
Available through Uxbridge-based luxury and premium car specialists GVE London Ltd, the 1991 edition F40 is painted in the classic Rosso Corsa and has fewer than 7,000 miles on the clock. The legendary rock guitarist sold it himself to its current owner in 2003, having bought it in 2000.
Listed at £925,000, the car might seem like something of a steal with that mileage and history – considering that even average (if there is such a thing) F40s are starting to fetch £1m prices at auction – but then with a non-standard exhaust system, the Clapton car might upset the numbers-matching purists.
