R.I.P. Motorsport Legend John Surtees

Along with so many others, we are mourning the death of ex-Formula One and motorbike world champion John Surtees at the age of 83.

Motor Sport magazine Hall of Fame - London Surtees will be remembered as the only man to win world titles on both two and four wheels, and one of the most talented racers of all-time will be sorely missed. The Briton won the 1964 F1 world title while driving for Ferrari, but before then he had found fame riding motorbikes for fellow Italian manufacturer MV Agusta, with whom he won seven championships across two power classes. Motor Racing - John Surtees A truly multi-talented racing driver, Surtees also raced at Le Mans and claimed the world-famous Isle Of Man TT senior category three years on the trot between 1958 and 1960 – the first man to do so. John Surtees - 1960 His death, following his admission to St George’s Hospital in London with an existing respiratory condition, sparked a mass outpouring of condolences from members of the motorsport community, recognising the true talent the British sportsman possessed.
