Ken Block Reveals All-New Retro Drift Weapon
Ken Block. The drift daddy. The tyre terror. The sideways… We’ve got nothing for that one.
Regardless, the man’s just a little bit handy behind the wheel. Be it sliding through the streets of LA…
Or leaping over hills in San Francisco…
…he’s always pushing the boundaries of what can be done. The one constant? Four-wheel drive.
Even his custom 1965 Ford Mustang ‘Notchback’ was specially converted to run with all four wheels – the first of its kind.
So what has he picked for his new ride? It’s sticking with the Ford brand, of course. But the similarities end there. Care to see it?
It’s a MK2 Escort, with a 2.5-litre engine producing 333bhp. All driven through, you guessed it, just the rear wheels.
That means, with our friend Mr Block behind the wheel, it can do tricks like this.
The whole package is better seen in full, in the video below. Check it out – you can nearly smell the tyre smoke through the computer screen. Nearly.
