Lamborghini debuts new Huracan Super Trofeo Evo – and here’s what you need to know about it

Say hello to your new favourite race car – the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo.

It’s the competition car for the Italian supercar manufacturer’s one-make racing series – the Evo in its name points to the fact that this is an evolution of the existing model, which already looked pretty wild.

The new car is based on the existing Huracan racer, which uses the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine found in the road car. However, the body kit has been given an overhaul to improve downforce while reducing drag.

These changes should have the effect of increasing cornering speed and straight-line speed respectively.

As well as revealing the car, Lamborghini announced a partnership with luxury watchmaker Richard Dubuis, who has created a very expensive watch to mark the occasion.

Want one? It’ll set you back just over £200,000 and will allow you to compete from the 2018 season.

Pssst!
