Maserati Takes On Prancing Horse Again In Strange Point-To-Point Race

Italian car manufacturers Ferrari and Maserati have gone toe-to-toe on race tracks the world over, but now Maserati has pitted its wits against a slightly different kind of prancing horse. One with hooves and a saddle.

To promote the new Levante 4×4, Maserati gave one to professional horse trainer Dan Skelton, while his brother, the hunt jockey Harry, was on the back of Dinnie O, a point-to-point horse with three wins to its name.

To make life more difficult for the car, the race was run on a point-to-point course across the Cotswold countryside. Although not especially taxing, the mud was enough to prevent the car from getting anywhere near its 143mph top speed, but (spoiler alert) it still beat its four-legged rival to the rather understated finish line.

Shock.

Pssst!
