Max Verstappen takes the new Aston Martin Vantage for a spin
The hype for the new Aston Martin Vantage is building…
For this latest snippet, we see the Vantage strutting its stuff at Rockingham with Red Bull Racing Formula One driver Max Verstappen behind the wheel.
The popular Dutchman is seen getting to grips with the new Vantage alongside Aston Martin Dynamics chief engineer Matt Becker.
In the video, Becker tells Verstappen that the new Vantage has ‘just over 500bhp and 685nm of torque’, and also reveals that the car weighs 1530kg – a substantial 200 kilos lighter than the DB11 V12.
On first impression, Verstappen commented: ‘It’s completely different to how the car looked before. I really like the rear diffuser. It looks a lot more aggressive and sporty, so I really like it.’
After giving the car his seal of approval after some tyre-smoking antics on the track, Verstappen revealed a special bond with Rockingham. ‘It’s always nice coming back [to Rockingham], because I had my first-ever time in a Formula One car here,’ he said.
The new Vantage is set for a full reveal on November 21.
