Meet Jaguar’s electric E-Type…

You could almost hear the purists screaming as this news was announced.
An electric E-Type? ‘You what?’ But, yes, an electric E-Type really does exist now. Imaginatively named the E-Type Zero, it combines all the beauty of the classic E-Type with the modernity of an electric car.
It even has a touchscreen and LED headlights too. It’s quick as well, with a 0-60mph time of 5.3 seconds, and boasts an impressive ‘real-world’ range of 170 miles.
Jaguar Land Rover Classic engineered the E-Type Zero at its new Classic Works division near Coventry before unveiling it today at its Tech Fest at Central Saint Martins University of the Arts in London. The event is open to the public this coming weekend.
Tim Hannig, director at Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said:
E-Type Zero combines the renowned E-Type dynamic experience with enhanced performance through electrification. This unique combination creates a breathtaking driving sensation.
To be honest, Tim, you had us at ‘E-Type’…
While it’s unclear if further E-Type Zeros will be built, Jaguar has said it is ‘investigating bringing this concept to market’.
We really do love the idea, so please JLR Classic – make some more!
Pssst!
