New Super5000 Series Car Is An Absolute Beast

Ever wondered what a Formula 1 car with a massive V8 engine might look like? Well, thanks to Australia’s new Super5000 series, you won’t have to wonder any longer.

The first Super5000 series racer was revealed over the weekend, pitched as ‘a modern take on the popular Formula 5000 cars of the 1970s’.

As if the retro looks weren’t enough to get you excited, it’s powered by the same 5.0-litre V8 engine found in the Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons that compete in the V8 Supercar series. That means the lightweight racer has more than 600bhp on tap.

The Super5000 series is set to launch next year and will act as a support category for the V8 Supercars, along with the Dunlop Super2 and Superutes series.

We don’t know about you but we can’t wait to see (and hear) these things in action.
