Police Down Under Now Have An AMG Patrol Car
There may be a rise in crime in Australia as those up to no good look for a ride in the new local police car.
Police in the state of Victoria are to patrol the streets and look good doing it in a Mercedes-AMG E43, which will replace the GLE63 Coupe the force had been using.
Discussing the force’s new wheels, Victoria Police said the car was chosen because of the emphasis placed on safety by Mercedes, with the car’s standard safety features including ABS and parking assistance.
For those criminals thinking of a getaway, the E43 certainly has enough power for any high-speed chase, with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 capable of pumping out 401bhp, enabling a 0-60mph speed of 4.7 seconds.
Victoria Police has dubbed its new automotive recruit Guardian V2, following as it does in the tyre tracks of Guardian V1, the GLE63 Coupe.
See it in action below.
