Quarter Of Speed Cameras Switched Off

Some 25 per cent of those pesky yellow cameras that flash at speeding vehicles aren’t even on.

That’s approximately 75 per cent too little in our eyes. We think they should all be destroyed by exhaust rockets.

However, it turns out that the static speed cameras aren’t the real problem – it’s the mobile vans that are snapping more and more of us these days.

Usually found parked at the bottom of the steepest hill in the UK hidden behind a bush, the mobile cameras caught 774,537 drivers in 2014 according to a survey by Confused.com.

Static cameras did snap a larger amount of speeding driver (968,715), however there are 1,300 more of them dotted around.
