Rare Street-Legal Porsche Racer Sells For More Than £4m
The Porsche 911 GT1 is a very special car.
It was the first Porsche to be homologated for the road after it had been racing, plus it has an awesome pedigree – including winning the Le Mans 24-Hour race in 1998.
Looks – Spectacular.
Noise – Brutal.
Speed – Mind-boggling!
So when one of the 20 road-legal models goes on sale, it’s a rather special occasion.
This silver example of the 3.2-litre, flat-six, 544bhp monster sold at Gooding & Company’s latest auction at Amelia Island for $5.66 million – or £4.6 million in proper money.
The 1998 model also had less than 5,000 miles on the odometer and was in near-perfect condition, coming with all its original accessories.
We send our congratulations to its new, lucky and fabulously rich owner – you’ve spent your money very wisely.
