Russian Police Need New Cars If This Is The Standard…
As police chases go this is pretty pitiful. But it does pose one question. Why would any police force use this van in a chase?
A video from Russia shows a small 4×4 outrunning the police by driving up a hill, leaving the law enforcers’ van stranded at the bottom of the incline.
By the look of both vehicles, the 4×4 is a UAZ-469 while the police van is a UAZ-452, which has the nickname of ‘Bukhanka’ – Russian for ‘Breadloaf’.
The 469 powers away effortlessly up the ridge, leaving the hapless 452 floundering at the bottom – and its occupants no doubt seething and cursing their department’s budget.
Watch the incident in full below. (Is it OK to chuckle, even though it’s criminals who are getting away? Probably not, but we still couldn’t help ourselves.)
