Ferrari Driver’s Escape In Sickening Crash Shows Just How Safe Prancing Horses Are

Crashes come in a range of different guises.
There are the ones that make you laugh, the ones that make you clutch at various body parts in empathetic agony (this is usually for motorbike crashes), the ones that make you feel sick and the ones that make you want to cry.
This video, shot at the Estoril circuit in Portugal over the weekend, shows one of the sickening ones – a Ferrari hitting the barriers at many miles per hour and flying into the air.
It seems the black 488 GTB came to grief at the end of the main straight, where the brakes chose the most inopportune moment to give up the ghost. As the car shoots past a red F430, it bounces over the kerb then spears through the gravel and smashes into the wall. It’s a huge impact that sends the car flipping into the air.
How anyone can get out of such a shunt alive is a bit of a mystery, so the fact that this Fezza’s professional driver apparently escaped without serious injury is testament to the safety of the Prancing Horse. The driver and passenger of the F430 should also be lauded for their decision to pull over and help out.
Sadly, it seems the car didn’t fare too well, and we can only assume that it’s a total-loss write-off.
Pssst!
