Toyota Transforms Yaris For 2017 World Rally Championship, Looks And Sounds Amazing
Toyota has a fine pedigree in world rallying, with three world titles notched up during the 1990s, and now it’s making a comeback.
The normal Toyota Yaris isn’t a particularly invigorating car, but after the Toyota Gazoo Racing team got its hands on it, the subcompact was completely transformed into a full-blown racer.
In a YouTube video, Toyota Gazoo has revealed some test footage of the new Yaris WR, decked out in testing livery.
With a rather impressive rear wing and brilliant-sounding engine – which, to be honest, is expected from any rally car now – the Yaris is completely transformed.
Thanks to the expertise of four-time champion Tommi Mäkinen as team principal, Toyota has begun the process of testing, and all being well should be ready for the start of next season.
Hopefully, Toyota can hold a candle to Volkswagen, which has been rather dominant for the past three seasons and looks almost certain to claim a fourth title in a row with Sébastien Ogier.
