Vulcans Cross Swords In Historic Send-Off

The Aston Martin Vulcan is awesome. Everything from its scowling eyes to its 800bhp heart make it a magnificent machine.

But it’s not the most exciting Vulcan ever produced. Far from it, in fact. The machine that takes that honour is the Avro Vulcan. Yes, the bomber.


It was made at the height of the Cold War, and while the Vulcan never actually dropped its lethal cargo, it certainly deterred Soviet Russia’s nuclear offensives.

You may have heard that it’s being retired from active flight too. This makes us sad, because the XH558 is undoubtedly one of the most spectacularly imposing machines ever built. Just look at it.

So to send it off in style, its owners sought the presence of another brutal vehicle bearing the same name. Cue Aston Martin.
